Anonymisation removes a candidate's personal data while keeping recruitment statistics. It is irreversible. There is no bin and no restore.
What disappears
first and last name — replaced with a forgotten-candidate marker,
email and phone — masked,
employment history and education — cleared,
personal data stored in the event history — overwritten.
That last point matters: anonymisation reaches into the stored history, not just the visible profile.
What remains
The bare fact of participation stays: that someone applied, which stage they reached, and when. That is what keeps reports from previous years consistent.
When it happens
In two ways:
Automatically — after the consent expires, following a short grace period.
Manually — from the Consents tab on the candidate profile. You have to type a confirmation word, so it cannot be clicked by accident.
To anonymise manually, click "Profile anonymization" on the "Consents" tab. In the window type the word DELETE and decide whether to notify the candidate.
Before you anonymise manually
Check the candidate is not part of a running recruitment — after anonymisation you cannot contact them, because the contact details go too. If you are only tidying a list, consider removing the candidate from the project instead.
