Moving a candidate to the next stage is the basic action on the board — and the only one that can send a message to the candidate by itself. So it is worth knowing what happens along the way.
How to move
There are three ways and they all do the same thing:
Drag the card to another column on the board.
Alt+→ in the CV preview opens the stage picker.
Bulk actions on the Candidates tab, when you move several people at once.
Alt+→ opens the "Change recruitment stage" window: pick the stage and click "Change stage".
On the "Candidates" tab, tick the people, open the actions menu and choose "Change stage".
The stage action dialog
If the target stage has an action configured, dropping the card opens a dialog previewing what is about to be sent. Nothing goes out until you confirm that dialog.
For each message in it you can:
edit the body and subject,
change the recipient — send to people with access to the stage instead of to the candidate, for example,
set a delay in days, hours or minutes,
delete the message if it makes no sense in this particular case.
If the stage has no action, the candidate simply changes column and nobody is emailed.
The day counter restarts
The number of days on a card counts time on the current stage. After a move the counter resets and starts again. That is what lets the dashboard and the report show where candidates get stuck longest.
Undoing a move
You can undo a move by dragging the candidate back. But a message that has already gone out cannot be recalled — if the stage action fired, the candidate received it. Delayed messages give you time to react.
